Snow is forecast to return to Hull and East Yorkshire on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The Met Office has issued a "yellow" severe weather warning, valid between 9pm tonight and 10am tomorrow.
Forecasters say a spell of sleet and snow is likely to develop over Norfolk before spread northwards.
Up to 3cm of snow is expected, with 5cm over higher ground.
The worst of the snow is likely to affect Hull in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A Met Office spokesman said: "A frontal system which has brought rain to eastern Norfolk during Tuesday is expected to pivot westwards across northern England overnight.
"As colder air feeds in from the east, the rain is likely to turn increasingly to sleet and snow, especially on high ground.
"However, temperatures will be marginal for snow at low levels so there is some uncertainty over snow amounts here. The public are advised to keep in touch with the forecasts through today."
Meanwhile, a flood warning remains in place today for the Weir Caravan Park at Stamford Bridge and properties at Kexby Bridge.
The Environment Agency has also issued lower category flood alerts for the lower River Derwent catchment, around Pocklington, and the River Foulness, near Market Weighton.
