Hull KR finally getting my discipline message, says Sandercock

HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock feels the message that discipline wins games is finally getting through to his players.

Back-to-back wins over Warrington and London have coincided with a better disciplinary record, helping the Robins to enjoy more of the ball.

With a trip to Bradford to prepare for on Sunday, Sandercock is glad the penny has finally dropped with his players.

"The discipline has impressed me in the last two weeks," he told the Mail.

"The message is getting through to the players.

"We've not done anything differently.

"We have just been getting an even share of the penalty count and that's important when it comes to winning rugby league games."

Consistent in attack since the start of the season, Rovers have now shored things up in defence to concede just six tries in their last two matches.

Whilst a trip to third-placed Bradford is another tough assignment, coming away with a win is not beyond the Robins if their high scoring attack stays in top form.

Sandercock hopes his side can defend as well as dominate in attack against the early-season surprise package.

"I am pleased for the boys that we can score points," he added.

"We need to make sure we are on our game and that we defend as well."

With Josh Hodgson and Craig Hall both returning, Sandercock has some tough decisions to make ahead of his side's trip to Odsal.

Hodgson is available after completing a one-match ban, while Hall is over an ankle injury and is likely to be considered.

Sandercock will leave it until as late as possible before deciding on the 17 players he thinks will get the win.

But he admits it will be hard to change the team after doing so well to beat London 42-22 last weekend.

"Craig is fit and ready and Josh has served his ban," Sandercock said.

"We are hoping all 17 players that played in London last week will be fit to play again.

"Of course it's hard to change a winning side.

"But I'll have a good look at Bradford again and pick the best side that will do the best job against them."
