HULL FC centre Kirk Yeaman has been ruled out for up to six weeks after scans revealed he broke his thumb in Friday night's win over Castleford Tigers.
Yeaman injured his hand diving on a ball but played on for the remainder of the 52-0 victory.
The 29-year-old is in hospital today and will have surgery on the injury before beginning a rehabilitation process that is expected to take six weeks.
Yeaman has been an ever-present this year after recovering from a foot injury in the off-season which saw him miss the start of pre-season training.
In other news forward Danny Tickle has taken an early guilty plea to his Grade B charge of punching following the Castleford match and will now miss Saturday's trip to Huddersfield with a one match ban.
Mark O'Meley was charged with the same offence, however Hull will contest the charge when O'Meley attends a hearing at the RFL this evening.
