LUKE Campbell may have missed out on the Dancing On Ice trophy – but he's enjoyed every minute of his TV fame.
The boxer has been bowled over by the support from TV viewers, family and friends while competing on the ITV1 show for the past ten weeks.
Although he took home bronze in last night's final, in the eyes of his Hull supporters he's still a winner.
Luke has spent weeks locked in an ongoing battle with judge Jason Gardiner, as he struggled to keep up with the more advanced skaters.
But after tough rehearsals with partner Jenna Smith, slips on the ice and nail- biting moments, he powered on and became the "dark horse" in the competition.
Luke said: "It has been brilliant. I struggled at first from being the best in the world in my sport to being a complete novice in another sport.
"I can't really believe what I've done on this show, I'm out of my comfort zone, dancing and performing in front of millions of people.
"It's been such fun and I've found my beat. We worked hard and we've enjoyed it."
Week after week, people voted in their thousands to see him through to the next round and he was only once placed in the skate-off.
Skating partner Jenna said she is "extremely proud of Luke" for making it to the final, where he competed against actor Matt Lapinskas and gymnast Beth Tweddle, who won the show.
Jenna said: "He's been incredible to work with."
Luke pulled out all the stops during a Wild West showcase last night with professional skaters, which saw even "Mr Nasty" Jason Gardiner sit up and pay attention.
A bare-chested Luke swept across the ice in a cowboy hat, before changing into a pink sparkly outfit and skate to Little Things by One Direction.
Judge Karen Barber told Luke: "You have come such a long way. It was all about learning to perform and I think you've achieved that.
"For a boxer to go out there and show he's gentle and perform such a charming routine is a huge achievement."
Jason said: "All of the little things you put into it was what was so touching about it."
Head judge Robin Cousins said about his showcase routine: "It was so much fun to see you finally come out of your shell.
"It was terrific. You kept up with the pro boys, you were animated and in the moment."
Twitter was awash with posts about Luke and #PUTHVOC became a popular hashtag as fans encouraged others to "pick up the handle and vote our Campbell".
After the ice dust settles, it is back to Hull for Luke – who has not been in his home city for three weeks. His fiancée Lynsey Kraanen and his two boys will be waiting with open arms and he says he cannot wait to get back into the gym.
Luke told the Mail: "I want to thank everyone who has supported me, I would be no one if it wasn't for them."
He tweeted that it is time to "put the gloves on" and posted: "I feel privileged. It has been amazing. Thank you."
Luke said there will be talks about his boxing future in coming weeks and "the people of Hull will be the first to know what's happening".
