FORMER Hull KR hooker Ben Fisher hopes to use his new-found knowledge as an assistant coach to plot the downfall of his former team.
The 32-year-old was named London Broncos assistant coach in the off season to work closely with head coach Tony Rea.
But an injury to Chad Randall meant Fisher was forced back into action.
Not that it took much persuading.
Fisher, who played for the Catalan Dragons last season, is delighted to be back on the pitch and admits he is a better player for working alongside Rea in the coaches box.
"I'm taking a lot more information out onto the pitch with me now," Fisher told the Mail.
"It's amazing how it works behind the scenes.
"I learned a lot under Trent Robinson last season and everything Tony and I work on has helped me in the games I have played since coming out of retirement.
"Tony has told me not to worry about anything other than doing a good job on the pitch for the Broncos.
"Hopefully, I can continue to do that in the games I play."
Fisher has been named in Rea's 19-man squad to face the club he helped get into Super League back in 2006.
His return to playing has coincided with an upturn in fortunes for the Broncos, who beat Salford 38-4 last week.
Fisher knew that performance and result was in them and was only a matter of time before it showed.
"That result was always coming," he said.
"We had been a little disjointed earlier in the season.
"We were making a lot of errors but we weren't being outclassed by any side.
"We knew, in time, things would turn and that was the case at Salford.
"The Rovers game is a massive game for us and both sides go into it with confidence high after winning last weekend.
"I hope it's not a try-fest like it was at the end of last season.
"We take pride in our line and we want to defend it a lot better than we did that day."
Fisher is happy to continue in his dual role for as long as needed.
Every game he plays keeps him fitter for the World Cup at the end of the season when he will be leading Scotland.
