HE HAS been the underdog on Dancing On Ice for more than a month but fought his way to the final.
Hull boxer Luke Campbell is down to the last three contestants after a dramatic semi-final and feels he has what it takes to win the competition and prove people wrong.
The skate-off was cancelled on Sunday, after rugby player Gareth Thomas pulled out of the competition after falling ill, but Luke believes he would not have been in the bottom two.
"It was the best I've skated but I was gutted for Gareth after everything," he said.
"Everyone wants to be in the final and feel like they've fought all the way but the contest can be very unpredictable.
"I've been left to the last three to be called out in most weeks. I don't know what all that is about but I've only been in the skate-off once.
"Everything happens for a reason and everyone has been so supportive.
"For weeks I've been the bookies' favourite to leave but I've kept on going and people from all over the country have been voting for me."
Luke said he is "extremely grateful" for the support he has had from the public and hopes he can go all the way and win the competition for Hull.
"The judges always give me a hard time, nobody else, just me, but I've been getting the votes and that's all that matters in this contest," he said.
Luke's fiancée Lynsey Kraanen travelled to London to cheer him on during Sunday night's show, but made sure she was back at work on Monday.
She said: "It's been a bit of a rush but it was worth seeing him skate. He has what it takes to win this."
Luke will go up against Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle and EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas in the final.
