HULL FC coach Peter Gentle has told his players to treat Widnes with the same respect they did Warrington or they'll get turned over tonight.
Gentle's side travel to the Stobart Stadium to take on a Widnes team with just one win so far this year, but big aspirations after the arrivals of Kevin Brown and Gareth Hock.
Having slumped to a shock 42-16 defeat at Widnes last season, Gentle is aware FC cannot take the Vikings lightly.
He said: "It is going to be a tough game. You don't look at the scheduling and say 'oh good it's Widnes that will be an easy two points'.
"We need to treat everyone with respect.
"It's their home ground, they've had a week off, they've been embarrassed by Hull KR, they've got Brown and Hock both starting and it's on Sky, so it's going to be a tough game.
"Saints didn't get them until right at the end of the game a few weeks ago when Widnes were down to 11 men. The scoreboard was level for a long time and it was only with the advantage of a couple of extra men that Saints got over the line.
"We then drew with Saints ourselves, so that points to the sort of game we're in for."
Widnes welcome Hull to the Stobart Stadium refreshed after a two-week break due to their clash with Leeds being postponed for the World Club Challenge.
Hull, meanwhile, are bidding to win for the first time in three attempts after drawing with Saints and losing to Warrington in a game they led for 60 minutes last week.
Happy with the improvements his side are making, Gentle says he wants Hull to learn their lessons in terms of game management.
He added: "We are learning about managing games and opportunities against sides. When we get these opportunities we have to take them, because that's what good teams do to you.
"We are maturing and getting better as a team. It is a big learning curve we are on."
