A Hull hospice is warning people of a charity scam thought to be operating in Beverley and Cottingham.
Dove House Hospice says its logo is being used on bags that have been left at homes for people to fill with clothing and books.
But the hospice, based in east Hull, says it does not post charity bags through doors and asks that supporters drop items at their shops or the warehouse.
A spokesman said: "It is unfair that someone is using our branding and logo to get donations for their own gain.
"People have been donating items, believing they are supporting the hospice, when it fact someone else is taking them.
"We would ask anyone who wishes to support the hospice takes their items to one of our stores."
