Comedy duo Hash Tap failed to make it through to the next round of Got To Dance tonight - but clearly got the live audience on side.
Hannah Goodhall and Natalie Coolledge, both 23 from Hessle, performed an hilarious aerobics routine that had all the judges in stitches but were only awarded a single gold star by JLS's Aston Merrygold.
The decision was booed by the live audience, who were obviously entertained by the routine, which featured a medley of pop hits, garish outfits and an over-sized bar of chocolate.
Aston told the Hessle girls: "The performance value of you guys is second to none. The comedic timing is so on point.
"There is no-one else like you in this competition and I absolutely loved it."
Kimberley Wyatt, who found fame with the Pussycat Dolls, said: I am such a fan of you guys and I hope no matter what you always stick to your duo and keep coming with ideas because it is amazing.
"But I do have to reference an amazing winner of Got To Dance, Chris and Wes, who were also a duo comedy act and were fantastic. What they brought was amazing dancing as well as the comedy and I felt that the comedy overshadowed the tapping. I wanted more advanced tap, I wanted rhythms.
"It is £250,000 and it is a dance competition so for me I don't think it quite made it - it was more of a variety act instead of a dance piece."
Ashley Banjo, of Diversity, was crying with laughter at one point and called the girls "mental".
He said: "I love you guys. You guys are literally comedy geniuses like if French and Saunders could dance this is what it is."
However, like Kimberley, he also felt the dancing was not worthy of a gold star - and a chance to win the prize money.
Despite the criticism of the judges, the duo, who performed a horse racing routine in their audtion, could have been saved by the public vote but ultimately London street crew IMD and 11-year-old solo dancer Rory came out top.
Got To Dance concludes with a live grand final featuring 10 acts from five live heats on March 17.
Despite failing to ge through, the Hash Tap girls went down a storm on social media, with fans urging them to keep dancing.
