TODAY the Mail is publishing details of more than 1,000 job vacancies in Hull and the surrounding area.
In November, we revealed there were more than 2,000 jobs available across the city.
Despite the tough economic times, today's jobs supplement – which features a huge range of different opportunities – shows work is still out there for those prepared to look.
Civic leaders and recruiters are urging job seekers not to stop trying.
Hull City Council leader Steve Brady said: "As a city, we are working together to achieve economic growth and create sustainable jobs for the future.
"Through this supplement, the Mail is showing its commitment to getting Hull working.
"We hope the jobs displayed inside show there are opportunities to work in the city and that we see a significant number of local people applying for and getting those jobs."
Jobcentre Plus managers accepted competition for work was tougher than ever.
But Hull district manager Stuart Griffiths said determination and effort could still pay off.
He said: "It's completely understandable to be concerned. But there are jobs out there and the key in a tight labour market is to make sure you are absolutely at the top of your game.
"I applaud the Mail for getting jobs on the agenda. We know there are better times around the corner but let's not wait until then – let's make sure we're in the best position to take advantage of that."

There were 241,000 unemployed people in Yorkshire and the Humber between September and November last year.
Mr Griffiths said it was still possible to stand out from the crowd.
He said: "Employers recruit on attitude. You can learn skills and teach people knowledge but if you don't have the attitude, that stops the show.
"You've got to have a good CV, research the company and go to the interview prepared."
The Government operates an internet job search database, featuring hundreds of opportunities within ten miles of Hull.
Mr Griffiths said demand for work was so high, many jobs were filled within hours of being posted.
The key to success is checking the website every day.
He said: "If you're only checking once a week, you're missing opportunities.
"Successful job seekers are really going for it.
"It's a competitive marketplace, so you've got to make yourself attractive to employers and you've really got to go for those opportunities."
From the Jobcentre, the message is simple.
"Never, ever give up," said Mr Griffiths.
"If you do stop looking, it's a certainty you won't get a job."
