A 28-year-old East Yorkshire woman has died after her car crashed into a tree on the A165.
The accident happened just before 9.20am today near Fraisthorpe.
The Bridlington woman was driving a blue Peugeot 206 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a silver Vauxhall Astra, being driven in the same direction by a 20-year-old woman, was also involved in the accident.
A police spokeswoman said: "The two cars were apparently overtaking a blue and white Daf rigid truck, also travelling north, when the two cars were in collision.
"The Peugeot then collided with a tree."
The road was closed in both directions. It reopened shortly after 3pm.
Officers are trying to trace two motorists who stopped at the scene of the accident for a time but left before police arrived.
Witnesses are asked to call police on 101, quoting log 109 of February 18.
