GEDO marked his full debut with another goal as Hull City registered back-to-back wins for the first time since Christmas with a tense 1-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at the KC Stadium this afternoon.
The Egyptian international settled a scrappy encounter when he punished goalkeeper Ban Hamer's mistake in the 33rd minute, his second goal in four days for the Tigers.
City had ample chances to make the victory more comfortable but they were eventually indebted to David Stockdale when he kept out Danny Haynes' shot five minutes from time.
After edging past Derby County earlier in the week, a second consecutive home win cements the Tigers' position in the Championship's automatic promotion places and preserved a three-point gap over third-placed Watford.
Despite hints of a switch to 4-4-2 shape to counteract a testing surface at the KC Stadium, Bruce stuck with his trusted 3-5-2 system with Alex Bruce and Gedo replacing Corry Evans and Robert Koren from the side that beat Derby County 2-1 four days earlier.
The early signs were encouraging for the Tigers as they dominated the opening stages.
Paul McShane's deep cross after eight minutes was attacked by the head of David Meyler from eight yards out, but Dale Stephens was on hand to clear the effort off the line.

It was just reward for an industrious and lively performance from the Egyptian.
Not content with their one-goal lead, the Tigers almost engineered a fine second. Brilliant interplay between Brady and Stephen Quinn down the left brought a cross to the back post and when Ahmed Elmohamady pulled back for Meyler, it needed a brave block from ex-Tiger Leon Cort to deny City a second on the stroke of half-time.
City set about killing off the game after the break and both Paul McShane and Meyler had chances in and around the Charlton box. Injury struck for McShane soon after and he was replaced by debutant Ahmed Fathi to complete City's full collection of Egyptian internationals.
Charlton had not given up hope of adding to their impressive tally away from home.
Ricardo Fuller headed against the goal support from Johnnie Jackson's corner, while Bradley Pritchard came perilously close when shooting wide from the edge of the area. Substitute Danny Haynes also struck a sweet drive into the arms of David Stockdale.
Increasing levels of anxiety were apparent in the closing stages as City clung desperately to their slender advantage.
A point-blank save from Stockdale was needed to preserve the 1-0 lead when denying Haynes with five minutes remaining but City would hang on to take another huge step towards to the Premier League.
