EAST YORKS: Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and comment on a £20m flood alleviation scheme designed to protect about 4,000 homes in Orchard Park and Cottingham.
The Cottingham and Orchard Park Flood Alleviation Scheme (COPFAS) has been designed by East Riding Council engineers.
Hull City Council is also involved.
The engineers will be on hand to answer questions, explain the scheme and demonstrate computer drainage simulations.
The exhibition will be held on Thursday at the Cottingham Darby And Joan Hall, in Finkle Street, from 10am to 7pm.
Following the last exhibition of the COPFAS preferred option in June last year, the design team has reviewed comments received and altered the scheme design, which will now comprise one large lagoon and several smaller lagoons as well as diverting the highway in Westfield Road, Cottingham.
The latest exhibition will outline the amended design, prior to the submission of a business case to the Environment Agency in the spring for grant funding for the £20m scheme.
Councillor Chris Matthews, cabinet portfolio holder for highways, infrastructure and emergency planning at East Riding Council, said: "This event will provide residents with an opportunity to provide the design team with constructive feedback and discuss the scheme as a whole."
Councillor Martin Mancey, portfolio holder for environment and transport at Hull City Council, said: "We are pleased to be working the council on this scheme. I hope residents will go along to the exhibition to see the plans and talk about what is proposed."
