HUMBERSIDE Police have today named a 56-year-old murder victim as Peter Battle.
The body of Mr Battle, a local antiques dealer, was discovered at his home in Full Sutton, near Stamford Bridge, on Thursday night after police were called by a resident concerned for his safety.
A 26-year-old man from Norton, North Yorkshire, has been arrested as part of an ongoing murder investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Alistair McFarlane is leading the investigation.
"I can confirm the body found to be that of 56-year-old Peter Battle," he said.
"A post mortem has revealed that he died from a heavy blow to the head.
"We have one man in custody in connection with the investigation of this murder and our enquiries are still very much ongoing.
"I repeat our appeal to the public to help us determine movements around Whisker Cottage between the end of December 2012 and Thursday, February 7, when discovery of the body was made."
