THE man in charge of overseeing the development of Hull KR's new North Stand is delighted with the progress being made.
Dave Bradley, head of operations at MS3 Craven Park, says construction is bang on schedule despite losing five days because of recent high winds.
But having seen main contractor Hobson & Porter get the project back on track, Bradley hopes the floor and roof will be in place by the end of the year to eliminate any further delays.
"At this moment in time we are on track," he told the Mail. "We've lost a handful of days due to the high winds, but we have managed to catch back up.
"We also struggled to get a crane in place when we had some heavy downpours. "Everything which is being done now needs the crane and as long as the winds stay away we should remain on course to get the floor down and the roof up.
"Both should be done in time before we have a two-week break for Christmas and the new year.
"I'm very happy with the way things are going at the moment. Hobson & Porter are very good to work with and we have a great relationship with them."
When completed, the new stand will add another 2,600 to the capacity of MS3 Craven Park.
Education facilities, plus an enterprise zone for start-up businesses, will also be included in the £7.5m project.
With no rugby to watch, interest has been high from supporters who have visited the ground to see how things are progressing.
"The completion of the stand can't come soon enough for the fans," Bradley added. "They have been coming to see it for themselves and taking pictures to post on Twitter.
"They have had to wait for it for a long time and I have no doubt they will be very pleased when it is finished. The away fans will enjoy it too as it will give them a better match day experience where they are covered."
